Ekse is a popular site for starting mountain hikes, summer and winter.

Beautiful skiing terrain towards Eksestølen, Kvitanosi (1460 metres above sea level) and in Stølsheimen, a large high mountain area where sheep grass summertime and raindeers live all year.

Summertime you may, in addition to hiking, enjoy trout fishing and undisturbed bicycle trips on gravel roads.

The gravel roads (Built by BKK, the power company) also allow trips deep into high mountain areas, even by car. The hydro-power dams they lead to are themselves impressive sights.
